  • The „Reduce Accessories“ pattern is part of the purchase stage of the customer experience.

In the shopping cart of an online shop, the customer is offered the option to save money by excluding accessories that he already has, such like cables. By unchecking the boxes he can see the cost reduction. The dealer keeps part of the reduction for the effort of reconfiguring the order.

After excluding redundant accessories, the customer proceeds to check out.

  • Customers can not exclude components of an order. For the dealers, the effort of reconfiguring orders is too big.

  • Many accessories like cables and plugs contain valuable raw resources but are never used because customers already own them.
