  • The Consider Co-Ownership Pattern is part of the purchase stage of the customer experience.

On the product detail page of an online shop, the customer is offered the option to pay less for a more durable product by owning it with neighbours.

On the next screen, he can see how much a share of a premium product would cost if owned with two neighbours. The customer can reduce the number of co-buyers or increase it and see how the price per share changes.

Now he can start inviting co-buyers. After they have confirmed, he is notified and can proceed to check out.

  • More durable products are more expensive than products with a shorter lifecycle. Co-ownership makes these products affordable, but is hard to organize.

  • More durabel products have a longer lifecycle.
