  • The Material Banking Pattern is part of the reuse and resell stage of the customer experience.

The cabinet of the customer shows his collections of products and their total value, like a bank account. He can look up the details of that value. In this case, it contains the reselling a recycling value of his products and the potential income by sharing certain products. Off course, these are only estimates, but they make the customer think wether some products that he does not use anymore should be returned to the cycle.

To get more detailed information, he can proceed to the resell value pattern or the recycling value pattern in this library. He can also look into the potential income by sharing certain products and proceed to their sharing settings.

  • Unused products contain valuable components and materials, but there is no interface between manufacturer and customer to deal with them.

  • Using products as material banks and harvesting their components and materials for reuse is an essential part of reversed logistics in the circular economy.
