  • The Circular Mode in Shopping Cart Pattern is part of the purchase stage of the customer experience.

In the shopping cart of an online shop, the first cleaning of a product is included for free. Especially products like sneakers can have a much longer lifecycle when cleaned properly.

The economic calculation is that after the first cleaning, customers sign up to a paid maintenance service, or in other words, set their product to „Circular Mode“, which creates a continuous relationship between brand and customer.

The free cleaning is checked as a default. Defaults are regarded as dark patterns, so decide for yourself if you want to use it. If the user unchecks the free cleaning, he is informed about the advantages of the service in an overlay including a button with the option to proceed with the free cleaning.

By clicking, the customer proceeds to check out.

  • Customers lack the skills to maintain their products properly and discard them for new purchases.

  • Well maintained products last longer.
