  • The Embodied Material Indicator Pattern is used in several patterns across all stages of the customer experience.

    It is part of the value patterns in this library. The library aims to preserve the planet. But the patterns of the library aim to preserve the value of products, as this is what customers are more likely to act on.

    On the detail page or in the digital product passport of a product, the customer can see the materials embodied in his product and its components, with the option to trace them back to their origin.

    In the purchase stage of the customer experience, this might influence the csutomers decision to buy or reject a product. In later stages of the customer journey, this data can be used to harvest or switch materials and components.

  • Customers need to be aware of the embodied materials and substances in their product including their origin to make conscious shopping decisions.

  • The more customers are aware of the embodied materials of their products, the more the manufacturers will implement full circularity in their design and production processes.
